Darn Tough Vermont socks are made in Vermont and was founded in 2004 with the purpose of finding a comfortable sock that could stand up to both frigid winters and humid summers. The hiking socks my son tried are a custom shrink treated Merino wool and Coolmaxx blend. The are very comfy feeling (I wish they would fit on my feet). They are the hiking style of sock and they have extra cushioning on the bottom and a reinforce heel and toe. They also have an invisible seam that my son loves as he is often bothered by seams in socks.
Vermont tough has many different styles for men, women, and kids for lots of different activities including skiing, running, biking, hiking, hunting, and more. And they offer an unconditional lifetime guarantee. They say: "if our all weather performance socks are not the most comfortable and durable socks you have ever worn return them for another pair or your money back. No strings. No conditions. For life." How cool is that. I also love the fact that Darn Tough Vermont is a socially conscious company that sponsors outdoor races and events and is involved with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
I've got my eye on a pair of hiking socks and maybe a pair of running socks too.
You can check out what Darn Tough Vermont has to offer on their website or you can connect with them on facebook or twitter.
